About the Author

The aim of Ms. Betts' books are expressed well by Psalm 40:10: "I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have spoken of Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth from the great congregation."

While still Sydney Tooman, she gained her B.S. in Bible, taught first grade, and completed her graduate studies in Education; but before she employed the latter, an energetic dark-eyed protagonist secured her hand and led her to foreign lands.  They welcomed their eldest, whose quiet fortitude and grace inspire this novel's heroin, in the second of these.  Their youngest child, who displays admirable amounts of cleverness and determination, will no doubt find himself in future pages.   

Before A River too Deep and Light Bird's Song, she designed a biblically-based personality test and contributed several stories to an adult literacy program.   She would welcome any feedback or questions you have about either of her novels or about following in the shadow of the glorious Almighty.
